Meet the Principal
Dr. Brandon Foster
I am honored to serve as the principal of Irwin, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for education to my hometown. As a proud graduate of Fort Wayne Community Schools, I pursued higher education at Louisiana State University, Indiana University and the University of North Texas before earning my doctorate from Harvard University.
Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to transforming schools and ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education. I led successful turnaround efforts in Dallas and Austin, Texas, where I focused on improving student outcomes, strengthening instructional practices and fostering positive school cultures. My leadership extended beyond the school level, serving in cabinet positions for both Boston Public Schools and the Ferguson-Florissant School District, where I played a pivotal role in district-wide strategies for academic excellence and equity.
Now, I have returned home to give back to the community that shaped me. I am committed to creating a school environment where every student feels supported, challenged and inspired to reach their full potential. My leadership is guided by a belief in the power of education to change lives and the importance of building strong partnerships between students, families, educators and the community.
I look forward to working alongside the incredible staff, students and families of Irwin to ensure a bright future for all.
